A Prayer for Hope
Empowering God,
We thank you for your love and care and compassion; for your grace and mercy, reaching out to us even though we stumble or stray. We praise and worship your presence in the world, leading and shaping us. And we honour — in gratitude — your gift to us of a future with hope.
We pray for hope: needed so desperately in these challenging times; craved by so many, here today and around the world.
We pray for hope for those struggling with ill-health, that you give them patience, strength and healing, guiding the efforts of those who treat and look after them.
We pray for hope for those worried about their work or study, that you open up doors and possibilities for them, and reassure them for the path ahead. Grant them courage.
We pray for hope for those living in poverty, that you shelter them from further harm, and bless them with the necessary support and resources. We pray for the success of fundraising activities that aim to improve the lives of those who lack sufficient means.
We pray for hope for those who are lonely, that you comfort and console them, and provide opportunities for companionship and connection.
We pray for hope for those who are lost, that you guide them back to the path and centre them with your love.
We pray for hope for all of us who worry for the future. Reassure us that you are our God and we are your people. Help us see your presence in our lives and recognize the plans you have for us.
Save us, O Lord, we pray.
