Beloved God, thank You for loving us, despite all our flaws and shortcomings.

We admit that we fail Your love in so many ways. We confess before you now the grudges and resentment we hold. We confess our dishonesty and our greed; the ways we put the values of the world, our vanity and our pride, before Your way.

Thank You for looking past our anger and selfishness and fear. Thank You for searching for us when we are lost. Forgive us for not trusting wholeheartedly in Your love. Pardon us for allowing doubts and scarcity to steer our path instead of Your grace and abundance.

Thank You for looking into our hearts to find the love we have for You. Nurture us to guard our faith and deepen our understanding of Your care and desire for each one of us. Kindle the flame of Your love within us, bringing us hope and warmth, and warming those around us.

Send us Your Holy Spirit that we might turn closer to You and closer to the life You would have us lead. Strengthen our purpose in this world. Help us grow in awareness of how we impact Your creation and our communities. Inspire us to make a loving contribution to the people and places around us; to take what we have and who You have made us and foster peace.

Sustain and guide us, as You guided Your Son Jesus Christ, that we might follow his teaching in our world today.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
